This platinum necklace features a star pendant with micro pave diamonds. The star is asymmetrical and slightly concave, which gives it an animated quality, as if the star were about to come to life. The diamonds are single cut and rhythmically bead set—when looked at under a loop, it is even more evident that the micro pave was done with a high level of skill. Platinum, a denser metal, is challenging to work with so the precision of the micro pave is very impressive. The high quality diamonds give the star incredible sparkle and great visual texture. The pendant comes on a 16” platinum snake chain.
The back of the star is marked as platinum, 950, and also includes the number and quality of the diamonds. There are 152 natural single cut diamonds, for a total carat weight of .75. The diamonds are G in color and VSI in clarity. There is also the maker’s mark “feeling”.
The star measures 1 1/8” x 1 1/8”. The chain measures 16”. The entire piece weighs 16.3 grams. The necklace has an interesting safety clasp that opens by pinching the side of the clasp and closes by feeding the end of the chain into it.
