These vintage 18k gold earrings have a great sculptural shape that is modern and sophisticated. Their design consists of a series of elongated triangles that make up the planes of their surface and follow a curve that results in a beautiful geometric shape, creating nice reflections where the gold catches the planes. The earrings have a hollow construction—thick enough to not dent; but are not too heavy on the ear.
The earrings measure 1.25” x .75”. Combined, they weigh 11.9 grams. The back clip has a hinge that adds flexibility and makes the earrings even more comfortable to wear.
The earrings are marked with “AR” for Arezzo, a city in Tuscany famous for its gold manufacturing. Arezzo is known as the “City of Gold” and considered the capital for Italian jewelry. They contain the maker’s mark “Bassani” and 750 for 18k gold.
Circa 1970’s or 1980’s.
These are clip on earrings, but we could add a stem for pierced ears.
