This beautiful charm features a single 22k gold nugget hung from an elegant rabbit bail. A diamond is prong set into one of the recesses of the nugget, an off-center placement that works perfectly with the shape of the nugget, as if the diamond was excavated from the Earth along with the gold. The gold nugget has a wonderful texture and unique shape. The free form dimensions of gold nuggets are organic and poetic, highlighting the buttery gold and extraordinary crevices. Gold nuggets are formed by hot fluids flowing through cracks deep in the Earth’s crust. Weather eventually releases the nuggets into streams and bodies of water, where they are shaped by erosion and time.
The charm weighs 5.5 grams. The nugget is approximately 5/8” x 5/16”, not including the bail which is an additional 3/16”. The natural round diamond is 3 mm, approximately .15 of a carat, G-H in color and SLI in clarity. The rabbit bail allows the charm to lay flat. The nugget tests as 22k-24k gold. The rabbit bail and the diamond’s prong setting test as 14k.
