A stunning pair of vintage 14k white gold diamond earrings. The earrings are made up of black diamonds that are surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds. Together the gemstones are arranged to make a flower or starlike form of approximately 1/2 an inch. The earrings are truly luminous and reflective, making them a perfect pair of cocktail earrings. The black diamonds are prong set with 12 prongs that surround the diamond. The smaller white diamonds are nested in and held with prongs that create the star like design. They acid test as 14k gold but they are not marked.
Each of the round cut black diamonds measure approximately 6.6 x 5.15 mm. The rich black of the diamonds is gorgeous, and the color contrasts nicely against the white diamonds. The black diamonds are a very nice clean pair of dark stones. They are 3.07 in total carat weight. The diamonds that surround the black gemstones are Old European cut with high tops; perhaps these were taken from an antique piece of jewelry. There are a total of 24 Old European round cut diamonds that measure approximately 2.3mm each or about 1 carat total. The diamonds average a VS in clarity and H-I in color making them very bright and lively.
