Vintage 18K Gold Frank Gehry Torque Hoop Earrings for Tiffany & Co

$2,595.00
Tiffany & Co. hired renown architect Frank Gehry to do a jewelry line that launched in 2006. Known for his avant garde, curvilinear buildings, Gehry’s jewelry line offered a similar aesthetic and an architectural feel. These 18k gold earrings are a version of a hoop, but with a torque line. When looked at in profile, the hoops appear squarish, but when viewed head on, the torque line comes into play and has beautiful facets where the gold twists—very much like Gehry’s architectural designs. The large hoops have a substantial presence and the design catches the light nicely. Everyone needs a good pair of hoops in their jewelry collection—these earrings can fill that role!

Frank Gehry designed many beloved postmodern buildings including the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Born in 1929, he rose to prominence in the 1970’s and is considered one of the most important contemporary architects. After his recent passing in 2025, owning a piece of jewelry by Frank Gehry is extra special and can be worn as a tribute to his innovative designs.

The earrings measure 1” x 1” with a width of 2.68 mm. Combined, they weigh 10.27 grams. Both earrings are marked with 750, Tiffany & Co, the copyright, and Frank Gehry’s signature. The 18k gold backs are replacements that fit well, but are not Tiffany & Co earring backs. The earring backs are marked 750. Comes with a Tiffany & Co. pouch.

For pierced ears.
