This 18k gold pendant was hand-crafted in Egypt. The plaque is an elongated oval with cutouts of hieroglyphics that include a snake, falcon, water, and feathers. The front and back of the pendant have a Florentine finish that was added by hand and the hieroglyphics are carefully appliquéd to the surface of the gold. The hand-crafted attention to detail and the fact that this piece was made in Egypt make it very special.
The pendant weighs 2.8 grams. It measures approximately 1” x 1/2”, not including the 5.9 mm round bail. The piece contains the Egyptian hallmark for 18k gold.
Circa 1960’s or 1970’s.
