Vintage 18K Gold Citrine Cabochon and Green Enamel Roberto Legnazzi Ring

$4,500.00
This colorful vintage 18k gold ring is a Roberto Legnazzi piece, with a citrine cabochon and green enamel in what appears to be an animal motif. The enamel rests within a giraffe-like pattern, and is a vibrant green color, but transparent enough to reveal the gold surface underneath it. The 9 carat citrine cabochon has a high dome to it, and is beautifully polished to create the optical illusion of catching light and reflecting images back like a crystal ball. The ring feels tribal and bold. The citrine picks up the color of the gold, and the green enamel is striking, making this a gorgeous cocktail ring.

Roberto Legnazzi’s jewelry is highly coveted, and his rings are particularly hard to find. This is a very rare piece! Roberto Legnazzi is a prestigious Italian designer and master enameler, and is the fourth generation of a family of respected jewelers, who began their legacy of fine craftsmanship in 1911. He operates out of his workshop in Valenza, Italy, which is a historic jewelry-making hub. Legnazzi’s work is known for its bold, vibrant, colorful designs and animal motifs, which often feature incredibly detailed enameling. In the 1970’s, he brought his jewelry expertise to David Webb as their master enameler, and his influence can be seen in David Webb’s iconic pieces.

The citrine cabochon measures 16 x 10.5 x 7.75 mm, for a TCW of approximately 9 carats.

The ring is 9/16” wide and sits 7/16” high. The band tapers down to 1/4” at the base. The ring weighs 12.25 grams. It is marked 750 and with the *1932, which is the registry number attributed to Roberto Legnazzzi. The ring comes in an original Vesco box, a jewelry store in St. Marks Place in Venice. The ring retailed around 1970.
