This ring is a 14k gold version of the image of the lion found on the Greek Cyzikos coin that dates to 4th century BC. The image is of the head of a lion above a tuna fish, as though guarding it. Above the lion is Greek lettering K Y and H, with T and I along the right hand side of the image. The signet appears to be made from an impression of the coin; it has both a matte background with a shiny surface to the images, which gives it a coin-like visual texture. The powerful imagery of the lion symbolizes bravery, fierceness, and protection.
The face of the signet measures 0.7” across. The ring face is approximately 7/8” x 7/8”. The ring weighs 19.3 grams. A ring size 9.75, this makes for a great unisex ring and can be resized. Marked 14k gold.
