Vintage 14K Gold Atomium Molecule Charm

$950.00
The Atomium building was built in 1958 as the main pavilion and centerpiece of the Brussels Worlds Fair. Designed by architects André and Jean Polak, the building is constructed of nine metal spheres in the shape of the atoms of a crystal molecule. Its modernist design was an ode to the Atomic Age of the 1950’s, as advancements in nuclear physics shaped the scientific landscape. Today, the Atomium is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Brussels, and an iconic symbol of Belgium.

Rendered in 14k gold, this vintage pendant is a miniature version of the historic building, and a symbol of scientific achievement—the perfect piece for a scientist (or scientist at heart). It measures 3/4” x 5/8”, plus an additional 3.5 x 6 mm bail. It weighs 3.55 grams. Marked on the bail 585 for 14k gold. Circa 1970’s.
