Circa the Victorian era, this banded agate intaglio features an intricately carved lion standing atop a crown. The lion’s paw is lifted, its tail in motion. The crown beneath it is adorned with a floral detail. The surface of the banded agate is a lavender shade of grey, carved into the reveal the red carnelian underneath.
Kirsten’s Corner found this agate intaglio and had our jeweler bezel set the tablet into a 14k gold setting with a solid back that would protect it and hold it securely in place. The pendant is 9/16” x 7/16” with an additional 4.5 x 7 mm bail. It weighs 1.56 grams.
