Victorian 14K Gold Greek Key Design Bracelet with Sapphires

$5,900.00
Is there anything more classic than a Greek key design? This 14k gold Victorian bracelet bangle has a Greek key border that is raised, with the gold behind it incised with horizontal lines that give texture to the motif. The bracelet was then bloomed to give it the look of a high karat gold. The Greek key design in this bracelet looks deceptively easy, but in actuality, had to be strategically spaced out so that the ends line up perfectly to create a continuous pattern even at the bracelet’s clasp. Along the top half of the bracelet are five step-cut square sapphires with a medium-saturation blue. The step cut of the sapphires goes down into a point and gives them a lot of depth, so that when you look at the stones, they suck you in. The bracelet is hollow but very sturdy, with a beautiful tongue-in-groove clasp that allows the bracelet to flow seamlessly with an unbroken Greek key design.

The bracelet contains five natural antique sapphires that measure 2.65 mm each. Combined, they have a TCW of approximately 1 carat.

The bracelet has a circumference of 7.5” and is 1/4” wide. It weighs 18.3 grams. It contains a maker’s mark, a hand-incised model number 2782, and is marked 14k gold.

Circa 1890. Looks great alone or added to a stack. The Greek key lends itself to a timelessness that is always in style.
