Victorian 14K Gold 1 Carat Old Mine Cut Engagement Ring

$4,000.00
This Victorian 14k gold engagement ring contains a stunning Old Mine Cut diamond, approximately 1 carat in size. The 14k gold ring shank has interesting delineation—the band swoops up and visually stops to allow a space for the diamond to be held. The diamond is set in a partial bezel that opens into six-prongs, creating an elegant cage setting with views of the stone from all sides. The ring’s diamond is exceptional: its beautiful open culet has a stunning Kozibe effect, meaning the culet reflects throughout the stone to create a myriad of sparkling facets. This classic Victorian design is gorgeous, beautifully showcasing the diamond in a timeless setting that makes for a romantic engagement ring. The interior of the band has the date June 18 hand engraved; the year is obscured, but based on the design, we’d date this ring to 1885.

The natural antique diamond is an Old Mine Cut that measures 6.3 x 6.3 x approximately 4.15 mm. The stone was graded in its mount to have a weight of approximately 1 carat. It is VS1 in clarity and G-H in color.

The band is 5.7 mm at its widest point and tapers down to 1.7 mm at the bottom. The ring weighs 3.6 grams.

Ring size 5.5; resizable.
