This signature bezel set tourmaline ring was designed around its striking indicolite blue-green tourmaline. The 6.8 carat stone is a modified emerald cut, with a deep bluish green teal color and many sparkling facets. The mount was designed to have a bezel that framed the stone while also remaining open below the stone; the cage of the mount supports the stone but also allows the light to shine through it. The mount has a slight, graceful swoop to its shape and merges into a 2mm round shank. The beauty is in its simplicity and in the gorgeous emerald cut stone, which has many linear facets within it that catch light and throw off lines of blues and greens. 

The tourmaline measures 13.79 x 8.34 x 5.94 mm. It weighs 6.8 carats. It is a deep, moody bluish green color, with pleochroism—a phenomenon in tourmalines that allow them to show two distinct color shades when viewed from different angles. Its Gem-Sciences report describes the stone as near flawless, medium-dark, green with bluish hues, and with moderate pleochroism. This is a high quality stone and a rare color of tourmaline. 

This stone has been waiting for a home for a while. It comes with GIA and Gem-Sciences certificates that both date to 1988. The paperwork is a cool piece of history from when GIA was in its old location. We were happy to be able to finally give this stone the mount it deserves. 

The face of the ring measures 9/16” x 7/16” and sits 1/4” above the finger. The band is 2.2 mm wide. The ring weighs 5.75 grams. Marked as 18k gold.
