Mid-Century Silver Hand Milagro

$25.00

Milagros are small religious charms offered to saints as an act of devotion and a request for help and healing—or as gratitude for a miracle. A folk tradition in Italian and Latin cultures, milagro means “miracle” and the charms are typically pinned or hung with red ribbon to a shrine, altar, or statue of a saint. They are also carried for protection and good luck, and can be placed in the home to remind us of an event or wish.

The symbol on the milagro traditionally corresponds to the prayer or miracle being asked for. This mid-century, 800 silver, milagro features a hand—meaning protection or healing for the hands or hand-related ailments.

Circa 1940’s or 1950’s, this lightweight little pendant has a lot of character. It is 2.1/4” x 3/4” and weighs 1.4 grams.
