This is a fabulous expressive hand carved stone bead of a head. The face evokes a tribal sensibility, with wide round eyes and a stern look with a planar nose. This intriguing bead is from an unidentified indigenous people. It is reminiscent of the monolithic Easter Island heads. It is hand carved and hand drilled at the top where we attached a 14 karat gold bail so this talisman can now be worn as a charm or pendant. From the top of the bail to the bottom of the head it is 1" x 3/8" wide.
This piece is part of a parcel of acquired ancient beads and seals from various parts of the world.
