This is a beautiful Japanese-inspired acid etched sterling silver match safe by Gorham. It is marked as model 310 and has a lovely acid etched image of Blue Heron at water side on the front and a branch detail on the back. The lid is hinged with the match strike to bottom (the bottom shows wear). This match safe is illustrated in the Shapiro, Neil, and George Sparacio book called, "Gorham Match Safes". Riverdale, New Jersey, International Match Safe Association, 2009, page 49 (for production model). It would be a wonderful addition to any match safe collection.
