Beginning with a gold rush era stickpin, circa 1910, we set this moss agate east-to-west on a custom made shank. The oval-shaped moss agate is bezel set and surrounded by a halo of gold nuggets. We love the richness of the high karat gold and the gorgeous marbling in the moss agate. The east-west positioning melds together old and new by giving this antique piece a contemporary mounting. A fresh take on a classic design.
The ring is unmarked. The gold nuggets acid test as 22-24k, the band acid tests as 14k. The moss agate and surround measure 5/16” x 3/16”. The ring weighs 4.9 grams.
