This gorgeous 14k Etruscan Revival necklace is a unique piece of jewelry. The architectural elements that are the foundation and inspiration for this piece are really superb. Made with a combination of yellow gold and rose gold, the necklace features abstract, floral motifs and ornate gold granulation wire-work. The dangling gold ball at the bottom is this focal point. It measures 1-3/4 by approximately 1-3/4 inches and features a dangling orb that mirrors the upper circular form that is the center of the flower. On the perimeter of the central piece tiny golden filigree details that form into curls and gold beads accentuate the luxurious design of this piece. The chain is made of ornate links and it is also 14 karats of yellow gold, as marked. The necklace measures approximately 16 inches around, which is the perfect measurement for this pendant; it hangs with elegance and boldly displays the passion for a revival of history that became the style of that era. Weighs a total of 9 grams. This piece was at one point a brooch and the antique chain was added to make it a necklace. Circa 1880.
