This is a classic English watch chain circa the Edwardian era, with graduated links that delicately become bigger in size. Two sections of chain are connected by a T-bar and each ends with a dog clip; the graduated links are widest in the middle of each section of chain, providing a graceful but subtle swell along each portion. The chain has a nice, longer length of 22.75”. It can be worn a with the T-bar as the front centerpiece, or with the dog clips in the front with a charm or pendant clipped into the chain. Handmade in sterling silver, this antique chain offers the classic watch chain look, but without the sticker shock of much more costly gold.
The chain contains the hallmark for Booth and Briggs, and the marks for Birmingham and 1900. As was customary in England, each individual link is marked with a tiny lion, the hallmark for sterling silver.
The chain measures 22.75”. The links range in size from 5.5 mm to 8.8 mm. The T-bar measures 1 5/8”. The chain weighs 79.5 grams.
