Edwardian 18K White Gold Pave Diamond Earrings with Bows and Floral Medallions

$5,800.00

These Edwardian 18k white gold earrings are encrusted with pave diamonds and intricately detailed with stunning filigree work. They offer a lot of movement, as the lower part of the earring—a floral wreath—is suspended from the ribbon-shaped top section that pierces the ear, catching a lot of sparkle and light as they gracefully dangle below. The centerpiece of the pave encrusted floral wreath is a larger round diamond bezel set with milgrain work; behind it is delicate vertical filigree lines, surrounded by a diamond halo. A filigree floral wreath contains four flowers with foliage between them, all encrusted with bead set diamonds and detailed with milgrain, a hallmark of the Edwardian era. The bow that tops the earrings is sweet and feminine—the ribbon is slightly twisted to express movement as if blowing in a breeze. The overall effect of the earrings is everything that is refined about Edwardian jewelry, which is known for its use of white gold, filigree, and delicate romantic motifs.

Combined, the earrings contain 2.25 carats of natural antique diamonds. The largest, center diamonds are 2.5 mm; ten of the diamonds are 1.5 mm, and the rest of the diamonds are 1 mm. There are 107 diamonds in each earring, 214 total. The diamonds are VS2-SL1 in clarity and G-I in color.

The earrings measure 1.5” from top to bottom, 7/8” across. Combined, they weigh 8.78 grams. The earring backs are large, in order to support the earrings securely. They have a beautiful flower shape that adds another lovely detail to the piece. The earring backs are marked as 18k; the earrings acid test to be 18k.

These stunning earrings are perfect for a special occasion. Not only are they ideal for a night out on the town, but they would make beautiful wedding earrings. They imbue the romantic sophistication of Howards End.
