This 18k gold pendant features a bas relief boar in running motion. He’s encircled by a hunter’s horn, cleverly shaped into a round frame. This a playful piece, and though we can’t be sure this is a truffle-hunting boar, we liked imagining him sniffing out our favorite delicacies in the woods! The boar bristles are done in great detail, and the animal is in full running stride, which adds a dynamic element to the piece. Originally cufflinks, we reimagined them into whimsical pendants.
The pendant measures 3/4” x 3/4”, not including the 6 mm round bail. It weighs 2.6 grams. The 1 mm single cut diamond adds the perfect touch of sparkle to the boar’s eye. Unmarked but acid tests as 18k. Circa 1910 when hunting jewelry was all the rage.
