Part of our Signature Collection, we made this 14k gold and champagne diamond necklace by sending the diamond to have a tiny hole drilled in its corner so that it could dangle without a mount. To drill a diamond is a labor intensive process that requires many stops and starts to allow the diamond to rest between drilling as to not break the stone. Once drilled, the diamond—an extremely hard stone—is very secure. We chose a platinum bail to connect the diamond to the chain so that the color of the bail would flow into the stone. The end result is a diamond that appears to float on the chain like a dew drop.
Cognac diamonds such as this one come in a variety of shades that range from champagne to cognac. The diamond has a triangular pear shape, similar to an equilateral triangle. It is SI2 in clarity and has a champagne color with a nice blush to it. The diamond reveals triangular facets within, and the Rose Cut can be worn with either side of the stone facing up.
The chain is 18” with a sliding clasp that can be adjusted anywhere from 15” to 18”. It is marked as 14k gold. The necklace weighs 2.33 grams. The natural Rose Cut diamond measures 5.25 x 5.85 x 2.6 mm, approximately 1/2 of a carat.
We have a collection of these floating diamond necklaces in our shop. They look great worn together in a stack! See our Pear Shaped Dangling Chocolate Rose Cut Diamond on 14K Gold Chain or our Dangling Pear Shape Cognac Rose Cut Diamond on 14K Gold Chain for diamonds in other beautiful hues.

This necklace, purchased as a gift, did not disappoint. It is sooooo beautiful, and just perfect for the recipient. We haven’t yet presented the gift, but we have no doubt that it will knock her socks off.
