This beautifully sculpted Pharaoh face plaque is from the 1920's. It is a faience piece with turquoise glaze that ranges in blue and green hues. Kirsten's Corner procured a handful of these pieces and we have added the 14k gold mount. The gold back beautifully mirrors the shape of the plaque with small tabs that hold the porcelain piece in place. The glaze falls in different places on each piece, making each one unique, and highlight the facial features.
The Egyptian Revival style flourished in the 1920's and coincided with the discovery of King Tutankhamen's tomb.
The plaque is new old stock from the 1920's the 14k gold mount (marked 14k on the back) was added by Kirsten's Corner, including the 5mm x 6mm oval bail. It measures 1" x 1/2" and weighs 2.7 grams. Shown with some our other Egyptian Revival themed charms.
