A classic design from the Art Deco era, this beautifully made 18k gold ring houses three Old European Cut diamonds set in a platinum mount. The mount is a variation of a crown setting, with arches that turn into prongs that hold the stones in place, with six prongs around the slightly larger center stone, and seven prongs around each of the side stones. The crown setting allows the gorgeous diamonds to be seen from all angles, letting in ample light for the diamonds to glow from within. A bridge joins the mount to the yellow gold band, continuing the lattice-like details seen in the mount, and seamlessly connecting to the simple, dainty yellow gold band. This makes a great alternative wedding band—as three-stone rings are often used to symbolize the past, present, and future. The interior of the band contains the engraving “Tony to Sybil 9-3-26”, a testament to the ring’s history and the love story of its previous owner.
The ring contains three natural antique Old European Cut diamonds. The center stone measures approximately 5 mm; the side stones measure approximately 4.5 mm each. The TCW is 1.1 carats. The center stone is J in color and side stones are H-I in color. All stones are rated in clarity as included but pack a lot of sparkle and present as bright and lively.
The face of the ring measures 5/8” x 3/16”. The band measures 2 mm. The ring weighs 2.85 grams. Marked as 18k gold and platinum, with a slightly worn maker’s mark that we were not able to identify.
Ring size 8.5. Resizable.
