This 14k gold bangle bracelet is an unusual piece, as it is rare to see Amazonite stone used in Art Deco jewelry. Surrounded by diamonds and onyx, the centerpiece of this gorgeous bangle is the Amazonite cabochon, which is a deep turquoise blue-green with dark veining. When examined closer, the stone has lovely white and cream colored marbling that plays against the darker hues. Beautiful milgrain work accentuates the platinum-topped background, while the 14 Rose Cut diamonds add sparkle. Table cut onyx are lined up in descending size, creating a pattern reminiscent to arrows pointing the eyes toward the beautiful Amazonite in the center of the stone. Delicate and feminine, the intricate pattern of stones leads into 14k gold and platinum bangle that looks elegant on the wrist.
Amazonite is a lovely stone, similar to turquoise, but much denser and richer in color. It polishes to have a shiny, glossy finish. It is not often seen in antique jewelry, and its pairing with onyx in this piece is very unique.
The bracelet is a size 6 3/4”. It snaps closed and has an additional safety clasp. It weighs 8.8 grams. The cabochon measures 8.5 x 14 mm and is 5.75 mm thick. One of the onyx triangles has a small chip, but because of its dark color, the chip can only be seen when examined under a loop.
