Circa the cusp of the Edwardian and Art Deco eras (1915-1920), this 14k white gold pendant necklace has beautiful filigree work that is open and lace like. Within the filigree pattern, there are horizontal lines along the lozenge part of the pendant. At the bottom of the pendant there is a triangle-shaped sapphire; three diamond elements come out of the sapphire like flowers in a vase. A baguette sapphire towards the top of the pendant repeats the pop of blue and creates a nice balance to the piece. The pendant hangs from an angular matching bail that is topped by a delicate little flower.
The pendant hangs from a 14k white gold Art Deco chain that is a beautiful match to the filigree. The chain alternates between elongated links that mimic the horizontal lines of the filigree, continuing the laciness of the pendant throughout the chain.
The necklace is 16” long. The pendant measures 1 3/8” x 5/8”, not including the bail which adds an additional 7.5 mm. The piece weighs 4 grams. Marked on the bail as 14k gold.
