Art Deco 14K Gold and Platinum Diamond and Gem Set Charm Bracelet

$14,000.00
We love these Art Deco charm bracelets because the charms of the era were so special, and usually diamond and gemstone encrusted. The charms in this bracelet are dainty and beautifully sentimental— ten charms suspended from a 14k gold bar link bracelet. The bracelet measures 7” and closes with a spring ring clasp. It weighs 19.8 grams. This particular charm bracelet features a variety of different charm subjects that come together beautifully to create a unified charm bracelet that makes perfect sense.

The first charm on the bracelet is a diamond-shaped tablet with a flame-shaped ruby representing a candle. The ruby is secured to a diamond encrusted candle holder. It tests as 14k gold.

Next is an Edwardian spiral target charm with an Old Mine Cut diamond at its center. The diamond has a cute cushion cut and measures approximately 2.5 x 3 mm. It tests as platinum.

It is followed by a diamond encrusted heart that frames the heart-shaped ruby that dangles within it. It tests as 12k gold.

The next charm is our favorite: an adorable stick-figure man with a sapphire cabochon for his belly, long legs, and a little diamond for his face. He wears a top hat and even has tiny diamonds in the buckles of his shoes. It tests as platinum.

Next, the elephant charm is diamond encrusted with single cut diamonds and a row of caliber cut sapphires for the saddle. Tests as platinum.

The next charm is from the Victorian era, and is a three-leaf clover with a emerald, ruby, and sapphire cabochons to represent the clover’s three leaves, suspended by a stem. The charm is gold-backed with a silver front to the stem. The gemstone cabochons are prong set, and the stem has lovely beadwork that adds another level of detail. A tiny diamond dots the tip of the stem. Three-leaf clovers are considered a symbol of good luck, and during the Victorian era, they were also used to symbolize faith, hope, and love. It tests as silver and 14k gold.

The charm that follows is also circa the Victorian era. It consists of a natural pearl with a beautiful baroque shape and a silvery white luster. The pearl measures 9.3 x 10.85 mm, and its age indicates that it is a natural pearl. It is topped with a bezel set Old Mine Cut diamond with milgrain work around it. It tests as 14k gold.

The bell charm’s special feature is that it is mechanical, and the tiny knob within it—that would create the ringing sound on a real bell—moves back and forth. The knob contains one tiny diamond, and the rest of the bell is encrusted with diamonds and detailed with bright cut work. Tests as 14k gold.

It is followed by a Victorian-era swallow charm, a popular image in the Victorian era that symbolized safe homecoming, loyalty, and enduring love. Swallow jewelry was often given as a gift to a loved one who was setting off on a long journey, or worn by lovers who were forced to be apart. The charm has a gold back and silver front, with garnets and Rose Cut diamonds in the wings and rubies for eyes. Tests as silver and 14k gold.

The last charm is another favorite of ours—a pair of knickers or bloomers, encrusted with diamonds. A row of caliber cut rubies create a border along the bottom edge. The knickers have a tiny little lock on them, playfully suggesting a chastity belt. Tests as platinum.

Antique charm bracelets like these are getting harder and harder to find—they are often broken up to make individual charms. But when we find one as well put together as this one, we leave it as is!
