9K Gold and Bloodstone Watch Fob Pendant, circa 1906
This is a fantastic antique 9kt gold and bloodstone watch fob pendant. Bloodstone has been treasured since the Middle Ages. It was thought of as a talisman for good health and a long life. Additionally, the bloodstone was believed to bring its owner respect, riches, fame and good fortune. This particular stone is a deep green with specks of red throughout.
This piece was originally a watch fob, however it fashions itself as a lovely pendant easily! The bloodstone in this piece measures to be 13.45 mm by 11.70 mm. This fob is in the shape of a slightly rounded rectangle and has the approximate measurement of 1/2 an inch. The fob has lovely intricate gold details. The bale has a generous diameter of 1/8 of an inch and can easily accommodate the chain of your choice!
This piece is well marked; it contains the maker’s mark “W.J.P.”, as well as a“.375” stamp for 9kt gold, the city mark for Birmingham, and the letter-date for 1906. This pendant weighs approximately 1.90 grams.
