22K Gold Marie-Hélène de Taillac Milky Aquamarine Cabochon Ring

$5,500.00

We were lucky enough to come across one of the most desirable rings made by Marie-Hélène de Taillac, and it happens to be one of our favorites in her design. We love a swivel ring, and this one has a particularly fluid design—the band is wider on the bottom and narrows to a point as it connects with the aquamarine. The stone is drilled just enough to hold the swivel, and appears as though it was floating free of any mounting. The swivel stone is a beautifully faceted oval tablet of aquamarine, which is what draws you into the presence of this ring. The icy blue and soft colors have a lot of depth, and its natural inclusions are part of what make it so charming. The stone’s facets continue down and around the sides of the stone, for a gorgeous shimmer throughout the piece. The high karat gold band brings warmth to the icy aquamarine, beautifully balancing the piece. This cabochon ring—first designed by Marie Hélène de Taillac in 1997—entered the permanent collection of the Musée de Arts décoratifs of Paris in 2015.

Marie-Hélène de Taillac is an iconic Lybian-born Parisian designer known for her use of a wide color palette, rainbow array of gemstones, and whimsical imagery. She has boutiques in Paris, Tokyo, and New York, and her splits her time between Paris and Jaipur.

The natural aquamarine measures 11 cm x 1.7 cm x 1.4 cm, and weighs approximately 20 carats. The band is 3.4 mm at its widest point. The ring weighs 11.44 grams. Marked 22 karat.
