This classic ring features a central sapphire stone and tapered diamond baguettes in a platinum mount. A popular design in the 1950’s, this stone has simple and clean lines that accentuate the gorgeous sapphire centerpiece. The natural sapphire is 1.25 of a carat. It is a beautiful blue that varies in color depending on the light—in a darker setting, the stone reads as a well-saturated blue, but in sunlight, the stone’s facets are illuminated and a lighter, royal blue sparkles through. This is a rich stone with a lot of life to it. The stone is prong set, and flanked by tapered baguette diamonds that create clean lines leading into the platinum band. This ring would make a beautiful alternative engagement ring.

The natural sapphire measures 6.5 mm across and 3.85 mm deep, weighing 1.25 of a carat. Besides its beautiful color, it is eye-clean. The diamonds measure 2 mm x 1.4 mm x 5.1 mm each; combined they weigh .35 of a carat. They are G in color and VS1 in clarity. 

The ring is marked as .900 platinum. It weighs 4 grams. Circa the 1950’s.
