18K White Gold Diamond Art Deco Engagement Ring

$3,800.00

Circa 1920, this diamond engagement ring captures the transition from Edwardian filigree to the geometric and architectural details of Art Deco, incorporating both eras in its lovely design. The Old European cut diamond has a phenomenal sparkle against the 18k white gold. The carriage of the ring has a bridge like structure with geometric filigree motifs and delicate milgrain work that extends down the side of the band. The round diamond is set in a square mount that creates a sparkle for the entire ring.

The diamond measures 6.1 mm across and weighs .9 of a carat. It is M in color, with some warmth to the stone, and the facets of the Old European cut have a lot of sparkle. The stone is SL1 in clarity, and has unusual inclusions: there are small crystals within the diamond in two places that appear to be “stones within the stone”, or two smaller diamond structures within the larger diamond. This type of inclusion is rare to find, and we found it to be very beautiful. The inclusions are only visible through a loop.

The ring weighs 2.3 grams. It is 1/4” wide on top. Marked on the inside as 18k.

Ring size 6.5.
