These 18k white gold hoop earrings contain 330 diamonds in an “inside out” setting that puts every diamond in a visible placement for maximum sparkle. The first half of the hoop is encrusted with diamonds along the front, while the second half of the hoop is encrusted along the back, giving the appearance that the entire hoop is covered in diamonds, inside and out. The diamonds are held in a shared bead setting, with a center row of white diamonds in between two rows of black diamonds. The diamonds are set in black rhodium, and the effect is reminiscent of a racing stripe. This is a labor intensive setting with careful attention to detail. The earrings have nice subtle charm: they have lots of sparkle, while the black diamonds bring an intriguing air of mystery and darkness to the piece.
The earrings contain 330 natural diamonds. There are 220 black diamonds and 110 white diamonds (approximately 1.2 carats of black diamonds and .6 carat of white diamonds). The white diamonds are H-I in color and VS1 in clarity. Each diamond is approximately 1 mm.
The hoops measure 1 3/16” x 1/8” Combined, the earrings weigh 7 grams. The earrings test as 18k gold. The earring backs are marked as 14k (they are most likely replacements).
