Part of Kirsten’s Corner Signature Collection, the inspiration for this 18k gold piece came when we salvaged these antique rubies from a Victorian bar pin. We had our jeweler channel set the rubies in an elongated bar with openings in the back to let light shine through the rubies, allowing us to see their gorgeous deep pink color. We topped the dangle with incredible Zambian emeralds in a beautiful deep rich saturated green with blueish undertones. The bezels around the emeralds mirrors their Emerald Cut by adding a facet of gold that is a continuation of the facets of the stone. We chose a bold color palette with deep hues that are perfect any time of year—especially spring and summer.
The natural Zambian emeralds are 1.1 carat each, for a TCW of 2.2 carats. They measure 6 x 7.25 mm across. The only treatment done to these stones is an oil treatment. There are 36 natural antique rubies, in a rectangular table cut. The rubies measure 2.2 x 1.5 mm each, for a TCW of 1.1 carats. The rubies were salvaged from a bar pin circa the 1900’s.
The earrings measure 1 7/8” x 5/16” (at the widest point). The earrings backs are marked as 18k and the earrings test to be 18k. Combined they weigh 4.45 grams.
Combining design skills with antique stones is so rewarding to us here at Kirsten’s Corner! Not only is this part of our Signature Collection, it’s a one-of-a-kind piece.
