This 18k gold signature ring was inspired by the beautiful truncated pear cut Nigerian tourmaline—we found the light play of the deep green color and golden undertones intriguing and wanted to pair it with a setting that would be equally unique. The facets of this stone are atypical for a pear cut stone and the bezel setting of the ring extends the facets into the setting, further enhancing them. The shape of the ring is reminiscent of a minimalist serpent head (for those of that love snakes!). The tourmaline is flush set into the ring’s higher profile and there is enough gold to balance the stone—giving the ring substance and grace without being overpowering. The ring is finely crafted down to the beautiful carriage work on the back of the ring.
The natural Nigerian tourmaline is 2.48 of a carat. The ring’s width ranges from 10.85 mm on top to 2.9 mm on the bottom. The ring has a rise of 1/4”. It weighs 9.3 grams.
