Kirsten’s Corner has a great love for coral and for organic form. As an artist, she was instantly drawn to the organic and freeform branches of this particular set of coral pieces, as well as their deep saturated Sardinian red and high gloss sheen. She envisioned the tops being capped, similar to how coral is often capped in Italy—but we added the diamonds and created a cap that would follow the organic line of the coral. The diamonds are bead set in a rhythmic placement, and the caps have an antique black rhodium finish that makes the diamonds pop against the 18k gold.
The earrings have a traditional Shepard hook earring wire and are mounted on a jump ring, giving the coral a lot of movement. The combination of the organic form and black rhodium creates an edgy and sophisticated look that is very striking.
The earrings contain approximately .7 of a carat of natural diamonds. The diamonds measure approximately 1.25 mm each.
Each earring is a unique shape and size, but the pair is well-matched and look stunning together. One earring measures 1 3/8” x 1 3/4”, the other measures 1 1/8” x 1 1/2” (from the top of the cap to the bottom of the coral). The caps mirror the shapes of the coral and are 7/16” x 5/16” and 3/8” x 1/4”. Combined, the earrings weigh 12.54 grams.
The earrings look great alone, but also pair nicely with the 18K Gold Signature Branch Coral and Diamond Studded Pendant.
