These stunning 18k gold and diamond pave earrings are designed by Roberto Coin, one of Italy’s most renown jewelry artisans. The earrings are hand etched and carved with precise, circular indentations. The Pois Moi design builds a rich texture on the front three sides of the earrings, with rhythmic placement of the indentations. On the back of the earrings, hollow holes have been drilled out with reticulation. The top of the earrings feature a huggie hoop with small pave diamonds, and a “chiodo”, or nail, is suspended as a drop. The dangle has graceful movement that catches the light and adds to the beauty of the earrings, while the chiodo structure gives the earrings a chic and edgy look.
The earrings contain .10 carat of diamonds. There are 8 near colorless diamonds in each earring, 16 in total. The diamonds are bright and lively, with excellent sparkle, prong set into the 18k gold.
Circa the 1990’s, the chiodo/nail design featured in these earrings has been around since the 1980’s and is seen in much of Roberto Coin’s work. Coin is known for his signature mark—a hidden ruby in each of his pieces of jewelry. In these earrings, the ruby can be found in the bottom reticulated hole on the back of each earring.
These beautiful earrings have a 2” drop that gorgeously highlights the jaw and neckline. Combined, they weigh 7.8 grams. For pierced ears.
