18K Gold Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Eagle Intaglio Signet Ring

$3,250.00
This 18k gold turn-of-the-century signet ring was made by Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Co. Ltd., a jeweler that was on London’s Regent Street, founded in 1880. We love the beautifully hand carved intaglio of an eagle, a powerful symbol of strength and courage. The intaglio has fine details—even the texture of the eagle’s feathers can be seen in the engraving—and provides a beautiful seal. The ring has a smaller face with rounded corners that blend into the band of the ring and give it a softer look. At size 6.25, this is a great signet ring for a woman—though it is a unisex piece. It embodies the classic Signet ring.

The face of the ring measures approximately 1/2” x 1/2”. The ring weighs 9.3 grams. It contains the Goldsmiths and Silversmith Co. Ltd. maker’s mark and the marks for London and 18k, but the date mark has been lost—most likely due to sizing. We are able to date this ring to circa 1900 because of when the company was operating and the style of the design.

Ring size 6.25; resizable.
