18K Gold Elsa Peretti Tiffany & Co. Somerset Mesh Bracelet with Sevillana Toggle

$5,500.00

Designed by Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co., this 18k gold Somerset bracelet is a gorgeous, fluid piece that drapes elegantly around the wrist. Layers of circular gold links are interwoven to create golden mesh that is reminiscent of medieval chainmail—bold yet simultaneously graceful and feminine. The bracelet has a Sevillana circular element and toggle with a slight curve that hooks into the circular clasp, adding a sleek detail to the design of the piece. Elsa Peretti was known for utilizing mesh in designs, and this luxurious look can be found in her necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and scarves.

Elsa Peretti began her career as a model in 1960’s Barcelona before moving to New York City where she became part of the designer Halston’s inner circle. By the early 1970’s, she was designing jewelry for Halston; by 1979 she was the leading designer for Tiffany & Co., bringing a fresh and sensual perspective to her primarily silver jewelry. Elsa was strikingly beautiful and was part of the Studio 54 club scene, alongside Halston, Andy Warhol, and Liza Minelli. She is a fashion icon and has been called the most successful woman to ever work in the jewelry industry.

The bracelet is marked on the clasp with “Tiffany & Co.” “750” and Elsa Peretti’s signature. It weighs 31.21 grams and is 7/8” wide. At some point, someone added 3/4” of jump ring links to the bracelet so that it would fit a 7 1/2” - 7 5/8” wrist. We’d be happy to remove the links if you’d like the bracelet sized down for a smaller wrist.

This versatile and timeless Elsa Peretti design is hard to find in 18k gold, making this a special piece!
