Vintage 18K Gold & Diamond Chaumet Bee Brooch

$2,250.00

This charming vintage 18k diamond bee brooch by Chaumet has impeccable engraved detailing throughout the body; and a polished and matte surface add contrast and texture. The eyes are two bezel set sparkling diamonds. It’s a versatile piece that can be worn as a brooch or strung through the pin element on a chain as a pendant.

It was made in the 1970s in Paris by Chaumet, a fine jewelry studio operative as far back as the 1790s. Their studio is internationally recognized and has designed hundreds of items that have acquired historical status.

The two round diamonds (the bee's eyes) are single-cut and measure 1.7 mm each or 0.04 total diamond carat weight. The bee rendering is larger than a life size bee, measuring 26mm x 26mm. It weighs 7.3 grams. The backside of the wings have the markings “Chaumet”, “Paris” and “750”. There is also the serial number marking “150744”.

This piece is a real treasure. Not only does it have the distinguished craftsmanship of Chaumet, it also carries so much positive symbolic value. Wearing this piece pays tribute to the essential work of bees!
