18K Gold Articulated Fishbone Skeleton Pendant with Enamel by UnoAErre

$5,500.00
This beautiful articulated pendant presents itself as the head of a fish seemingly caught on the bail, as if it were a hook. The face has large, deep blue enamel eyes and a wide open mouth. Beneath the head is the skeleton of the fish with bright green enamel details that draw the eye in toward the pedant’s articulated movement. The skeleton culminates with a tail, enameled with more vibrant blue and greens in a scale-like ombré. Because of the large nature of its head, there is a prehistoric quality to the fish. The pendant is chunky and faceted, and a striking example of the vintage motifs popular in the 1960’s and 1970’s. It can accommodate a thicker chain, and looks good at both lower and higher placements, at the base of the neck or worn lower on the chest.

A fishbone skeleton symbolizes transformation, rebirth, and evolution. It can be worn as a symbol of personal growth and the ability to evolve and change.

UnoAErre is the oldest gold factory in Arezzo, Italy—one of the gold making capitols of the world. They were founded in 1926 and given the trademark 1AR in 1934, and from then on were known as UnoAErre, “the first in Arezzo.” They have famously high standards for quality, design, and sustainability.

The pendant measures 2” long and 1” wide, not including the large bail, which measures 10.5 x 7.3 mm. It weighs 14.3 grams. The pendant is articulated, with movement between the head, body, and tail of the fish, as well as the bail. It is marked 750, 1AR, and UnoAErre. Circa the 1960’s or 1970’s.
