This 18K gold and platinum cobblestone ring is from the cusp of the Edwardian and Art Deco eras, incorporating some of the most beautiful stylistic details of both eras. The ring contains nine Old Mine Cut diamonds, set into platinum and held in place by the bead setting. The ring’s artful design mirrors the beading as a backdrop that creates a beautiful cobblestone effect. The Old Mine Cut diamonds have high tables and blocky facets, with open culets at the base, and the ring carriage has an open back that allows light to shine through the diamonds to enhance their sparkle. On the underside of the ring there is lovely open carriage work in 14k gold that gives the back of the ring a beautiful flourish.
The ring’s band contains the English hallmark LEB& B 18K and Plat. The rectangular face of the ring is 3/8” x 7/16”. The band is 1.95 mm wide. The ring weighs 2.7 grams. The nine diamonds measure 2.2 to 2.5 mm, and are H-K in color and Range from VS11 to SL11 in clarity, and equal .45 of a carat.
