15K Gold Georgian Belcher Link Chain with Textured Links and Barrel Clasp

$7,750.00
Circa the Georgian era, a chain like this is highly coveted because of its rarity, and also because of the fact that it has the original clasp. Each of the domed 15k gold links are handmade and embossed with a repeating leaf-like circular pattern that goes around the entire link. The chain is in excellent condition with every link beautifully preserved. The barrel clasp is a nice feature, in a shape reminiscent of a bee hive, with a tongue-in-groove clasp function. When looked at closely, you can see the file marks from its handmade construction.

The chain has a beautiful long length of 30.25”. The width of the links are 5/16”. It weighs 33.1 grams. Unmarked, as gold was not marked in the Georgian era. It was X-ray tested as 15k.
