14K Rose Gold Victorian Blue Banded Agate Ring

$575.00
This is an elegant Victorian era ring, featuring the popular Scottish stone of banded agate. The banded agate is smooth and could be engrave with a personal sign or emblem, potentially making it a signet ring. The oval and smooth banded agate gemstone measures 3/8 by 5/8 of an inch. It is a very dark blue color, and the sides, where one can see the rings of the agate, is a darker black color. The band on the ring is banded also, with a nice texture that enhances the qualities of the stone. The rose gold color is a nice choice to set off the darker and moody gemstone. The ring is a size 4 but could be easily resized. Feels great to the touch making this a great everyday ring. The ring remains unmarked but has been acid tested to 14K gold.

"Pebble rings" or agate rings like this one were very popular in Victorian England. Plenty of agate stone was found during the late 19th century in Scotland, and it was Queen Victoria that made it fashionable after her first vacation to Scotland. Agate stone came to be the souvenir stone of the Queen, and quickly it became an amulet to be found all over the United Kingdom. Weighs 3.65 grams.
