14K Gold Victorian Ring with Diamonds and Pink Coral Cabochon

$550.00

This pale pink coral cabochon is elegant and feminine, circa the Victorian era, and set on a 14k gold ring. The coral has a beautiful matte surface with delicate wood-like graining. The cabochon is surrounded by six Old Mine Cut diamonds, sweetly framed in square mounts.

Part of our signature collection, this piece was once a stickpin. We had our jeweler remove the pin and mount a ring shank to the coral. It now makes a gorgeous conversion piece. Stickpins rose to prominence in the early and mid 1800’s; it was customary for upper class men to wear them to secure their ties and cravats. Pins were also worn on the lapels of coats, and incorporated into hats. Eventually, women took interest in wearing stickpins and began using them on scarves.

The Old Mine Cut diamonds are 1 mm each, with beautiful high tables. The coral cabochon is 10 x 6 mm. The ring weighs 2.7 grams.
