14K Gold Thai Buddha Intaglio Amulet Pendant

$495.00
This very finely detailed three-dimensional Buddha pendant is similar to the amulets found outside many Buddhist temples in Thailand. The Buddha can be seen from both front and back, sitting serenely in the Lotus position. We love the combination of textures seen within the amulet. The sculptural buddha is rendered in a matte surface, with a scrolling lattice pattern surrounding him. Behind it is a rainbow mylar panel that shimmers with reflective colors when you move the pendant, housed between two crisp shield-molded plastic panels that frame the piece, as is often seen in Thai amulets, for an effect reminiscent of a tiny snowglobe . The surrounding shield is 14k gold and encases the form perfectly, with bright cut work and a zig zag pattern around the edges. The pendant has a nice blocky appearance that gives the piece depth.

The pendant measures 1” x 3/4” and is 1/4” deep. It hangs from a 5.8 mm round bail. It weighs 4.2 grams. The piece is unmarked but acid tests as 14k gold.
