Edwardian 14K Gold Reverse Painted Essex Crystal Antelope Pin

$350.00

This pin of an Antelope is an Artiodactyla's lover delight. An antelope is reverse painted on an Essex crystal and mounted on a 14 karat yellow gold safety pin like brooch. The pin measures a total of 1 3/8 inches and the crystal cabochon that features the antelope is 12.3mm x 12.3mm and bezel set in 14 karat gold. The cloven-hooved mammal has been carved and hand painted reversely into the crystal, backed by mother of pearl giving the piece a luminous glow. The beast stands in miniature majestic glory.

This piece dates to the Edwardian era and is marked with an unidentifiable mark but tests to be 14 karat gold.  It weighs 2.75 grams . Essex Crystals offer a world onto themselves and this is no exception. In excellent condition let this proud animal grace your jacket or blazer, or whatever you chose to pin.
