14K Gold and Blue Enamel Hamsa Pendant with Diamonds

$1,750.00
This 14k gold pendant features the ancient symbol of the palm-shaped hamsa, filled with beautiful cobalt blue enamel and outlined along the bottom with a half-halo of diamonds. Originating in the Middle East, the hamsa is believed to bring good fortune and provide protection from the evil eye. The enamel work in this pendant has been beautifully done in a vibrant blue, translucent enough for the textured gold to shine through from behind it. A pool of blue enamel was built up on the bail with so much depth that it presents as a jewel and appears to glow. The line of 15 diamonds in a shared prong setting make a horse-shoe shape along the bottom and add a striking contrast of white against the blue. This powerful talisman looks beautiful on a chain and offers protection alongside its beauty.

Imagery of an open hand dates back to Mesopotamia, and has been used as an important symbol is Jewish, Islamic, and Christian religions throughout history, representing the hand of God. Today it remains a popular motif in the Middle East and North Africa, and is considered a good luck charm and a sign of peace. The Hamsa Prayer reads: “Let no sadness come to this heart. Let no trouble come to these arms. Let no conflict come to these eyes. Let my soul be filled with the blessing of joy and peace.”

The pendant contains 15 natural diamonds, for a TCW of .17 carats. The pendant measures 1.25” x .5” and weighs 3.6 grams.
