This Georgian era 14k and 18k gold bracelet features large, complex links for a design that is rich and ornate. The links are mathematical: they consist of small circles, woven together to create circular orb-like links. The impressed texture on each link looks like little beads, and the gold is textured with tiny dots. The effect is mesmerizing.
The spectacular link of the bracelet culminates in a gorgeous barrel clasp, which is adorned with open latticework and the same tiny dot texture that is seen on the links. At the center of the barrel are three small turquoise stones surrounded by a clover motif.
The facets on the jump ring are indicative of the Georgian period. The smooth snake safety chain is original to the bracelet and indicates that this is a Georgian piece circa 1820.
The chain is 14k gold and the barrel is 18k gold. The bracelet weighs 22 grams and is 7 1/2” long.
A true treasure.
