Circa 1900, this 12k gold lucky horseshoe pendant contains 25 sparkling single cut diamonds bead set with bright cut work. The setting has scalloped edges along the bottom outside border; the inside border is a nice clean line that balances the intricate opposite edge in a nice composition. The result is an illusion setting that captures more light to make the diamonds appear larger. We’ve converted this piece from a pin to a pendant by removing the pin stem and adding a bail so that the pendant dangles off to the side.
The pendant contains 25 natural single cut diamonds that measure approximately 2.75 mm each. Total carat weight is approximately one carat. The diamonds are G-H-I in color and SI in clarity. Unmarked, the pendant tests as 12k gold and the bail and jump ring test as 14k. The pendant measures 1 5/16” x 1 1/8”. It weighs 6.57 grams.
