An elegant vintage Swiss-made Hermes wrist watch with quartz battery movement. This is the Etrier watch with the front reading Hermes Paris. It is a woman's watch although it is a great unisex item. Its minimal style is refined, and the time is denoted by four simple lines, at noon, 3, 6 and 9. The lines are stainless steel and a gray color, against a cream colored face. The strap has a soft walnut brown color. This watch has lovely nostalgic tones, adding a superb vintage look to any outfit.
The watch comes with the original leather wrist band, with a stainless steel buckle marked "acier inox" (French for stainless steel) and "Depose Swiss", patented in Switzerland. The band is also marked with "Bracelet Hermes" and is original to the watch. The back of the stainless steel watch is marked with the Hermes H and makers mark, as well as reference number 51490.
The watch is in excellent condition. The bracelet watch length is 8 inches, and the face of the watch is set into a nice gray color of stainless steel is 3/4 x 1 inches, with the overall built in band holder measuring 1 3/8" x 1". The crown of the watch and the steel bezel are both marked with Hermes as well.
This is a rare find! Circa 1980.
